Sketch of abduction suspect released by RCMP
A sketch of a suspect in a possible abduction attempt of a 13-year-old girl outside the Chilliwack Leisure Landing Centre last November was released by RCMP investigators today.
A sketch of a snake tattoo on the back of the suspect's left hand was also released.
Chilliwack RCMP are hoping someone will recognize the suspect, or remember the tattoo and call police with the information.
The girl was standing outside the leisure centre when the suspect, a white male in his late 30s, offered to give her a ride.
The girl refused and started walking back toward the leisure centre, but the suspect followed and tried to grab her. She managed to get away and go inside the leisure centre, where she waited for her mother.
The suspect had pimples on his face and was wearing black-rimmed glasses at the time. He also had a blue-and-green tattoo of a snake on the back of his left hand.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Chilliwack RCMP at 604-792-4611 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS. Tips can also be made online at www.chilliwackcrimestoppers.ca. A $2,000 reward may be offered for information that leads to identifying the suspect.
