Man shot during armed vehicle robbery in Abbotsford

Police say suspects have been arrested, no risk remains to public

A man was shot during a carjacking in Abbotsford on Saturday night (Feb. 17).

The Abbotsford Police Department says they got the call for the incident just after 7 p.m. and arrived in the 3600 block of Townline Road to find a man with a gunshot wound.

He was taken to hospital while police worked to track down his stolen vehicle.

Abbotsford Police say they called in the Air 1 police helicopter and, with the help of other law enforcement, the vehicle was found in Coquitlam.

The suspects were arrested, and police say no threat remains to the public. No further details were provided, including the condition of the victim.

No charges have been laid at this time.

The department’s major crime unit is investigating and is asking for anyone with information to contact them at 604-859-5225.
