Chilliwack Progress up for 2 provincial Ma Murray Awards

The Chilliwack Progress is up for two provincial newspaper awards.

The finalists for the B.C. and Yukon Community Newspaper Association’s 2024 Ma Murray Awards were announced on Friday, March 22.

The Chilliwack Progress has been nominated for general excellence in its circulation category, while multimedia journalist Jenna Hauck is up for an arts and culture writing award for her story on a 100-year-old quilter.

Hauck’s article features Chilliwack’s Anne Schaefer who has made around 1,000 quilts which have all been donated to charity.

The winners will be announced during the Ma Murray awards event on April 20 in North Vancouver.
