LETTER: Consider yourself blessed to not need urgent care

Hospitals are for everyone in the community, regardless of housing situation

In regards to “ER a terrible place to be,” Chilliwack Progress, Feb. 16, 2024.

Wow. I was so sick about your letter, I had to reply.

The only thing I can say is I would rather sit by hordes of homeless people (dirty, rude, etc. as you would say) in the Chilliwack ER than sit by you. You don’t know any of these people, or their story, nor would you care to ask. How do you know if they paid taxes or not? Or how sick they are?

The hospital is for “all,” and they will make the decision as to who gets looked at first. Clearly not you, or you would not have been looking at a six-hour wait. So, consider yourself blessed. You said you didn’t wait it out anyway, so why waste everyone’s time?

I would like to praise all doctors, nurses, security, cleaners, cooks, volunteers, etc., at all our hospitals, for keeping up all safe and cared for.

P.S. Security is right there in the ER. Ask for assistance you need it, you seem to have lots to say.

First and foremost, thank you to the Chilliwack Hospital for you have me on more than one emergency trip. Thank you for taking care of “all” in our community 24/7, and I am so happy that you don’t discriminate. Thank God. Thank you.

Donna Tetz
