Canadian hip-hop artist k-os will be performing live in Chilliwack in February.

The Juno Award-winning Toronto singer-songwriter – who gained success from hits such as ‘Sunday Morning,’ ‘Crabbuckit’ and ‘Born To Run’ – will be at Luxe Nightclub in Chilliwack on Friday, Feb. 2.

The show will kick off his five-concert Meyendseye Tour. Other stops include Red Deer, Nanaimo and Cumberland (two shows).

His sound has been classified as “alternative hip hop” and incorporates genres including rap, reggae, rock, R&B, and electronic music. He has written and produced nearly all of his own music.

He became well-known when his second album Joyful Rebellion came out in 2004. It was critically acclaimed and included hit singles ‘Crabbuckit,’ ‘Man I Used To Be,’ and ‘B-Boy Stance.’

K-os’ album Atlantis: Hymns For Disco (2006) was more pop-oriented than his previous album.

He has won numerous awards including three Junos in 2005: rap recording of the year for his album Joyful Rebellion, single of the year for song ‘Crabbuckit,’ and video of the year for ‘B-Boy Stance.’ He also won a Juno Award for album design of the year in 2003 for his first album Exit.
