A concert next month will raise funds for a different and much bigger music event in Chilliwack this summer.

Organizers of Forest Echoes Music Festival, a two-day event in Cultus Lake, are having a concert on Feb. 2 to help offset increased costs of the summertime event.

They’re calling it the February Forest Fundraiser.

“The fundraiser will feature three bands that will be performing for the 2024 festival, and who have made a name for themselves in the valley as being forces to be reckoned with,” said Ben Thorne, one of the organizers.

Naturally, much like the summer festival, the Feb. 2 concert will be forest-themed.

“So wear green, dress up as a bush, whatever you have to do to get in the mood.”

The winter concert will feature bands Tayos, Sweet Fanny Adams and Harma White.

“The idea is to create a source of income to cover early costs, while simultaneously giving attendees a sneak peak at some of the amazing entertainment they can expect this year. But for anyone looking for a truly memorable night of music, even if you don’t plan on making it to the festival, this event will not disappoint.”

The February Forest Fundraiser is Feb. 2 at Whiskey Richard’s. Doors open at 7 p.m. and the first band starts at 8 p.m. There will also be a 50/50 draw, exclusive festival merchandise, and an art auction. Tickets start at $20 and are available at eventbrite.com/e/february-forest-fundraiser-tickets-783800286757.

Forest Echoes is an eclectic music festival which will take place on a 20-acre forest property in Cultus Lake on June 28 and 29.

Thorne calls the summer event an “all-inclusive music and art extravaganza featuring an unbeatable atmosphere and unforgettable performances from some of Canada’s best undiscovered bands.”

Those who buy tickets to the Feb. 2 concert will also have the option to get discounted festival passes through Eventbrite.
