A square dancing club in Chilliwack is offering a new program in hopes that more people will come out and dance with them.
The Chilliwack Rhythm Reelers square dance club’s Modern Social Square Dance program starts on Friday, Jan. 5 at Atchelitz Hall.
“We are a non-profit club promoting health and wellness in our community,” said member Michelle Thiessen. “This is a sober event and recently I found that many people like this concept.”
Classes begin on Jan. 5 and the first class is free. No experience is needed and there’s “no fancy footwork,” according to the program description.
Couples, singles and families are all welcome.
Weekly lessons are on Fridays (Jan. 5, 12 and 19) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Atchelitz Hall at 6542 Lickman Rd. The cost is $8 for adults and $6 for teens (free on Jan. 5).
