An award-winning, soul-and-blues artist will be performing in Chilliwack next week.

Singer-songwriter Emily Fennell, whose stage name is Miss Emily, will bring her concert to three West Coast venues, including Bozzini’s Upstairs Lounge for two solo shows on May 10. She’ll also be in Port Alberni on May 9, and White Rock on May 11.

Billed has having “roof-rattling, soul-revealing vocals,” Miss Emily is a Juno Award nominee and winner of multiple Maple Blues Awards.

She is from Prince Edward County, Ontario and is currently based out of Kingston. Miss Emily just celebrated her 20th year as a full-time artist touring Canada, the U.S., the UK and Western Europe.

“Getting to make music for a living for over two decades now has me focused in on the regions of the world I most love,” she said. “The West Coasters know they live in paradise. I’m always in awe of the beauty this part of the world boasts and I’m always heart-warmed by the equally beautiful music lovers who make me feel so welcomed and at home here.”

She has recorded six studio albums, been nominated for a Juno for Blues Album of the Year, and been recognized by the Maple Blues Awards as a three-time Female Artist of the Year, and New Artist of the Year.

Miss Emily is at Bozzini’s on Friday, May 10 for two shows: 6 p.m. (doors open at 4:30 p.m.), and 9 p.m. (doors at 8 p.m.). Tickets are $29.50 at Bozzini’s or call 604-792-0744.
