Throat singer offers a healing journey
A special concert with internationally known throat singer Matthew Kocel is set for May 25 at the old Arts Centre.
This concert is a unique healing sound journey, with Kocel's style a unique blend of Tibetan/Tuvan throat singing and Euro-American overtone chant.
His guttural and purring vocal harmonics are combined with an array of unusual instruments - the harmonium, a set of Tibetan and crystal signing bowls, tuning forks, a conch shell and tingsha cymbals.
Matthew Kocel performs Friday, May 25, 7:30 pm at the old Chilliwack Arts Centre, 45899 Henderson. Tickets $22 advance/$27 at the door (cash only at the door). Students with ID $10. Advance tickets available at Amethyst Books & Essence, 8989 Young Road, 604-792-3730 or info@amethystbookstore.com or www.amethystbookstore.com.
