It was a constant flow of people coming in and out the door at Re/Max Nyda Realty’s annual Toy House on Saturday, Dec. 14, 2019. Due to COVID-19, this year’s event will be a drive-through toy drive. (Jenna Hauck/ Chilliwack Progress file)

Re/Max Nyda Realty’s 27th annual Toy House is switching from a drive-through event to a drop-off fundraiser, and there’s a much bigger window for folks to make donations as well.

People can drop off items at 7300 Vedder Rd. between now and Dec. 12 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Saturday.

They are collecting new, unwrapped gifts, gift cards and cash for Chilliwack children and teenagers in need.

Last year, the event brought in more than 1,000 toys.

The fundraiser is in collaboration with the annual Chilliwack Athletes for Turkeys and Toys (CATT) Fund toy drive, organized by the Chilliwack-Mt. Cheam Rotary Club.

Since 1986, the CATT Fund event has raised more than $400,000 and collected more than 14,000 toys.

Re/Max is also offering to do pick-ups. Call Robert Lacerte at 604-858-7179 for more info.
