The residents sponsored two single-child families through the Sally Ann's Adopt-A-Family program — one family has a 10-year-old girl, the other a four-year-old boy. In addition to several boxes of non-perishable food, the residents raised more than $750 to purchase gifts and gift cards for the two families.

The Adopt-A-Family program allows local businesses, churches, groups and families to buy items for specific families in need, including toys, food and turkey vouchers.
