Free fair for kids up to age 5 returns to Chilliwack

Free food, activities, transportation at 2nd annual Chilliwack Early Years Fair

A free fair for some of Chilliwack’s youngest residents returns to the Sardis Library in May.

The second annual Chilliwack Early Years Fair, for kids up to age five, is set for Wednesday, May 15.

Like last year, it will have free activities, free food, free transportation, connections to local resources for families, and more.

Several service providers, including the Chilliwack Learning Society and the Chilliwack School District, are collaborating to host the event. Last year, more than 600 people attended.

This year’s activities include singing, art, a scavenger hunt, outdoor play, story time, bannock tacos and more.

The bannock tacos, provided by the Chilliwack School District Indigenous department, are free and for everyone. Also on site will be Stormy’s food truck and Kona Ice. Each family will receive one food ticket per person to choose which food truck (Stormy’s or Kona Ice) they would like something from.

For those without a vehicle, free busing will be available from Bernard and Central elementary schools.

Registration is strongly recommended for everyone who wants to attend (even if they do not require busing) as it helps organizers plan for the event. Registration is required for those who need busing and the deadline is May 10.

Families with children ages 0-5 can register online.

The annual Chilliwack Early Years Fair returns to the Sardis Library (5819 Tyson Rd.) on Wednesday, May 15 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
