Fraser Basin wins $25K grant

Money will be used to support fleet vehicle emission reduction program

The Fraser Basin Council (FBC) has won a $25,000 grant for its project which will provide solutions to reduce emissions from 10 fleets of vehicles across Canada.

The Automotive Recyclers of Canada and Summerhill Impact announced the four winners during the inaugural awards on Jan. 21 for the Grants in Gear program.

The FBC, which has an office in Mission, has created the E3 Fleet: Gear Up! program, which is Canada's green rating system for public and private vehicle fleets. The goal is to reduce fleet emissions and improve environmental and economic performance.

A review committee evaluated more than 30 applications.
